OUR PRACTICE

Nepean Cardiovascular Centre is a specialist cardiology practice based in Penrith that provides comprehensive cardiac care for patients. The Centre was established to improve access to high-quality cardiology services across the Greater Nepean and Blue Mountains regions. Our supportive team offers expert assessment, ongoing management and timely cardiac investigations.

Our approach ensures that patients are well cared for, they understand their condition and importantly their treatment plan. We also ensure that referrers receive clear and prompt communication to support ongoing shared patient care.

Our Team

We are a skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.

Interventional Cardiologist & Co-Director, Associate Professor Robert Gerber, leads the clinical service at Nepean Cardiovascular Centre. Dr Gerber provides specialist cardiology assessment and ongoing care for patients referred from general practice, specialists and hospital services across the region. He sees many patients through the public hospital system and is able to continue their care in the Centre’s private rooms, ensuring consistency and continuity of management.

Dr Gerber supports his patients across both public and private settings. Dr Gerber also performs interventional and procedural work at both the Nepean Public Hospital and Nepean Private Hospital, and provides ongoing cardiology care for patients from the Blue Mountains region.

Clinical investigations are performed by our Chief Cardiac Sonographer, Kane Parker, with echocardiography and cardiac testing conducted under specialist oversight to ensure clinical accuracy and patient safety.

Our administrative staff provide essential support in coordinating appointments, managing enquiries and ensuring patients have a smooth and welcoming experience from their first point of contact. Their commitment to organisation and patient communication allows our clinical team to focus on providing the highest standard of cardiology care.
